Residential Redevelopment, Staffordshire - Ruddlesden Geotechnical

On behalf of a housing association, rarely used garages are to be demolished and replaced by flats and houses.

A combined Phase 1 Assessment and Phase 2 Intrusive Site Investigation was carried out. The investigation included window sample boreholes, which caused minimal site disturbance, and laboratory testing. 

Foundation and contamination recommendations were provided. Placing a capping layer of 600mm of inert subsoil and topsoil in garden areas was considered to be the most suitable remedial technique.

The validation/ verification testing was also subsequently undertaken by Ruddlesden geotechnical to satisfy the NHBC land qualitiry requirements and local authority planning conditions.
